From the series, Be Bee Creative minds as the wild bees of our society. In my opinion, creativity is crucial to the survival of our society. Creativity should be encouraged, nurtured and developed. I want to highlight the parallel between wild bees and creative minds. Cross-pollination by the wild bee is necessary for the survival of crops. Cross-pollination of ideas between people is necessary for them to flourish as creative individuals and collectively as an evolving society. Bees sting to warn you. Art can ‘sting’ you in order to shift your perception and thus stimulate awareness. Likewise, in our society creative ideas are born through unique interactions with each other and the environment. ‘Thinking outside of the box’ and ‘colouring outside the lines’ is as pollination is, essential to an evolving society and ultimately our survival.
