My story begins on an apple farm in the French Alps, where I spent my childhood. At the age of 18, I ventured into the world of cabinet making. Seeking new experiences, I moved to the northeast of England to work with the renowned British artist Antony Gormley. During this time, I also enrolled in an Art Foundation course at Newcastle College, where I discovered my passion for ceramics. This newfound interest led me to pursue a degree in Glass and Ceramics at Sunderland University.
While immersed in my undergraduate studies, I developed a deep interest in glassblowing. I dedicated myself to mastering this intricate craft, driven by a fervent desire to learn and a unique ability to transform molten glass into expressions of my creative vision. Inspired by the rich tradition of Venetian glassmaking, I began to experiment with creating innovative and subversive stemware, marking my entry into the world of glass artistry.
Following my graduation, I further honed my skills at The Glass Hub, where I spent a year teaching beginners the art of glassmaking. I then went on working for internationally acclaimed glass artists Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg. During this time, I immersed myself in both hot and cold glass techniques, acquiring expertise in Swedish overlay and incalmo methods, along with a wide array of Italian cutting techniques.
