Meixuan Li, born in China in 1998, graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2021 and is currently pursuing her studies at the Toyama City Institute of Glass Art. Her work is profoundly shaped by Eastern natural philosophy, with a focus on the intrinsic connection between humanity and nature. Specializing in glass art, Meixuan explores the spiritual bond between humans and animals, a connection that is increasingly overlooked in modern society. Her work challenges conventional notions of glass art by harnessing the material's unique properties—such as light absorption and spatial transformation—to reshape our perspective on viewing. Through her installations, Meixuan invites viewers to engage with her pieces, encouraging them to move, interact, and experience a shift in perception through the dynamic qualities of glass.
