Republic of Korea
Silver Kim is an artist whose work explores the boundaries of normal and abnormal. She works primarily in glass, but also incorporates numerous other materials like wood, metal, and found objects, and media such as video. In a series of works, she has built dining-related scenes that focus on interaction with the object and audience, taking ordinary functional items outside of their ordinary context. Silver has received scholarships from Hongik University, Corning Museum of Glass, and Arrowmont School of Art and Craft. She holds a BFA in metal art and design, woodworking and furniture design, and ceramic and glass at Hongik University, Republic of Korea.
