Si Won Kim is a South Korean artist based in London and Seoul, working primarily with glass. Her practice explores how species, with humans considered as one among many, inhabit urban environments, however they pass through the city on wings, legs, or claws.
Her work meets glass as it already is, both window and mirror, wall and opening, an interface where inside and outside meet and fold into one another. Working glass powder, stain, and enamel into both sides of a glass panel, she creates work that can be read from either side, each face nearly echoing the other. The work carries the logic of a window and the tradition of images set within it.
Si Won graduated with a B.F.A. and a M.F.A. in Ceramics and Glass in Hongik University (2024) an MA in Ceramics & Glass from the Royal College of Art (2026). Her work has been exhibited at Q Archive, Mall Galleries, and other venues.
