Artwork description: I am deeply moved by the fleeting beauty of nature—the shifting light, the movement of the wind, the trembling of trees, the ever-changing shapes of clouds. No scene is ever the same twice, and I long to capture those transient moments in glass. In this work, I create individual parts through hot work, arrange them in an electric kiln, and then reheat them. At over 800°C, wearing protective gear, I directly touch the glass inside the kiln and freely transform its form with my own hands. Traditionally, kilnforming techniques allow only limited intervention once the heating program has begun. However, by working directly with the glass inside the kiln, I discovered that I could shift the material from two-dimensional to three-dimensional, controlling and shaping it with my own hands. This intentional act of transforming the glass by hand captures dynamic flows and vivid expressions unique to the material—forms unattainable through other methods. The process is a race against time: as I quickly open the kiln and bend the glass, it begins to harden almost immediately. In that brief window, I wrestle with the constraints of the material, committing my whole body and spirit to shaping the glass in an instant.
