Artwork description: The work consists of repeatedly fired glass plates, their surfaces gradually revealing faint burn marks that tell of the firing process. Deliberately employing non-annealing techniques, the artist preserves these marks intentionally—leaning into the "defect" characteristics of glass, which evolve dynamically: starting as soft creases, deepening into sharp splits, and finally transforming through crystallization and reorganization. These physical changes, far from flaws, become the core language of the piece, capturing the fragility and transformation inherent in material and memory alike.
These glass elements, with their evolved textures, resemble veins that have curled and cracked after being air-dried by the passage of time. Together, they are stitched into an axis of memory, a tangible form for intangible recollections. Through this visual structure, the work speaks quietly yet powerfully: it narrates the individual’s journey of self-construction, the tension of internal conflicts, and the quiet process of repair, turning abstract emotions into a form that can be seen and contemplated.
