Artwork description: The sculpture, titled "Viva la Vida," is inspired by the work and life of Frida Kahlo. The title of my work refers to the artist's last painting. The work's central element, a pyramid, is a reference to the artist's roots, as she repeatedly painted Aztec pyramids, honoring the heritage of her ancestors. The flowers with slightly damaged petals on the pyramid symbolize the artist's beauty. Despite her body scarred by illness and accident, she was a beautiful person and was able to find beauty around her. This work also tells the story of Frida's suffering throughout her life. In addition to physical pain, she also experienced the loss of a pregnancy and unfulfilled dreams of motherhood. The symbol of this suffering is the embryo. The skull at the end of the composition symbolizes the end of life and its fragility. Referring to the artist's Mexican origins, the skull is a key symbol of All Saints' Day, expressing respect for the deceased and living in their memory. This composition is both a story about Frida Kahlo's life and my tribute to this Unique artist.
