Tailor-Made World. How Contemporary Culture Fuels the Obsession with Beauty - an installation using glass and other materials.

Artwork description: Artistic part: The created installation represents a young woman's room, where she has become so consumed by the pursuit of beauty that she has lost herself. Hiding from others, she curls up in this room, desperately trying to accept the person she sees in the mirror. Every object around her, however, persistently reminds her of the long and arduous journey ahead to even partially accept her body. A measuring tape and scissors hint at the need to shed extra pounds. A thread and needle signify necessary alterations. A withered rose warns that time is slipping away, and beauty fades with each passing day. A plate marks boundaries that 'should not' be crossed. The fabric pattern suggests the next beauty salon visit. A cracked mirror whispers, 'better not look". While the room may seem ordinary at first glance, a closer look reveals its dark secret – a place where fear intertwines with elegance, a space where, to some extent, we all dwell at times. Design part: The Fibra tableware collection is designed for use in a patisserie. Made of transparent glass and glazed porcelain with delicate translucency, is shapes and decorations are inspired by textiles, including textures, lace, hemstitches, and richly embroidered patterns.
