Relationships of Matter

Artwork description: Glass: It is a material that is beautiful and fascinating in itself. I try to “harm” it as little as possible by my intervention. I form the object from the material only by setting a simple geometric shape, reducing the creation to its essence. With light, uniqueness of the glass stands out. Concrete: It is technical, brutal material, grey unalluring matter at the first glance. It contrasts with captivating glass, yet it offers a lot. Without depth, it is the opposite of glass. Concrete is fullness. In my work "Relationships of Matter" I explore their confrontations. Whether they communicate with each other, whether they complement or restrict each other. Is it a clash of fragility and strength, light and darkness, good and evil?... Glass brings light to concrete and light adds subtlety, hope, lightness, it adds depth. Light scatters and refracts through dense mass of glass, occasionally bumping into the concrete which stops or restricts the dispersion or creates a contrast which makes it stand out. I leave it to the viewer to observe these phenomena and contemplate the nature of matter. To contemplate the essence.
