Artwork description: The title refers to the moulting of some reptiles, the shedding of the outer layer of skin in the process of growth, when their bodies are delicate and vulnerable. By creating compositions from male bodies I am exploring affectionate unisex relationships, their beauty and ordinariness at the same time. I show intimacy through glass, which becomes a metaphor for skin. I was inspired by the story of the corpses of a male couple found in an embrace, that were preserved by the volcano ash in Pompeii after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The ancient discovery has a present meaning for me and is a call for tolerance for the LGBT community.
