Artwork description long: The work is a woven glass low relief constructed using flameworking techniques. Individual glass rods are heated, drawn, and handwoven into an open structure, where variations in density, direction, and layering generate subtle perceptions of depth beyond the physical surface. Light functions as an active material alongside glass. As it passes through the woven structure, shadows are projected onto the wall, extending the physical relief into an immaterial space. The glass structures, projected shadows, and small figurative elements act as partial spatial clues, suggesting a dream-like space between reality and illusion. This relates to the idea of “Beyond Imagery”: visible forms do not describe a complete space, but invite the viewer to imagine what extends beyond them. The tangible glass can be understood as a “real” space, while shadow and implied space form a “void” space. Under light, these spaces overlap and transform one another, reflecting xu–shi xiangsheng, in which presence and absence generate spatial meaning together. Through stillness and silence, the work invites thought, feeling, memory, and potential movement to enter the space. In this way, the image continues beyond what is visible, becoming an extension of the mind.
