Artwork description: Self-reflection, self-knowledge and self-acceptance. My work is based on theories of personal development, which I process into a series of objects with the motif of three fictional flowers growing from concrete foundations through materials such as glass and concrete. Each object bears a colour depicting a given stage of gradual inner flowering. Mounting foam was used for the base model, which was transferred to glass using compatible glass to record the expanding organic and porous material. Concrete, a sturdy and durable material, here represents the impenetrable structures of the world and constraining conventions.
