Illusions of Sensations

Artwork description: Installation “Illusion of Sensation” examines the impact of excessive thinking – overthinking on an individual’s emotional state, perception, and everyday experience. The work addresses a psychological process characterized by repetitive, difficult-to-control, and unproductive patterns of thought that gradually influence one’s ability to interpret surrounding reality with clarity. Overthinking manifests itself through persistent reflection on past events, anticipation of possible future situations, and the repeated mental reconsideration of conversations, decisions, and potential courses of action. Such cognitive activity rarely leads to resolution or greater clarity, instead, it often intensifies psychological tension, mental fatigue, and experiences of anxiety.
