Cyanolace - The work of women under the UV light

Artwork description: My diploma work is a glass image made using an alternative photographic technique, cyanotype. The lace pattern on the work pays tribute to the painstaking work of women lace-makers under historically unfavourable conditions. Since the invention of the lace-making machine, the artisanal nature of this genre has decreased. But knowing the hardships of working women can this really be considered a negative change? The static, repetitive composition of the work is a reference to this question.
