Artwork description: Carefree is a large-scale glass composition that explores the concept of freedom and spontaneity often associated with childhood. The work emerged from a personal need of rediscovering playfulness after years of self-discipline and pressure to conform. Inspired by my childhood drawings, I created an imaginary world of dinosaurs, hybrid creatures, and colorful landscapes. The composition combines multiple glassmaking techniques: glassblowing, kilncasting, flameworking, sandblasting, and cold working. Alongside glass, I incorporated old garments, such as fragments of clothing once worn by my mother, sister, and myself, which i hand-sewed and combined with crocheted elements. These materials form flowing shapes, bridges, and extensions of the glass sculptures, creating a dialogue between fragility, memory, and imagination. Through this piece, I aim to reclaim lightness, authenticity, and carefree expression. An open, spontaneous way of creating that resists over-analysis and embraces the joy of intuitive discovery.
