Panamanian artist and sculptor, born in 1971. In 1992, she began to study terracotta sculpture and stained glass at the Quimera Workshop under the direction of Master Armando Granja, in Panama.
Since 2012, she has been working with glass kiln casting, fusing, slumping and painting, mastering her techniques at Bullseye Glass Co., in Portland, USA.
Poonam has participated in important individual and collective exhibitions in galleries of great recognition in Panama, Bogotá, Costa Rica, Argentina, Miami and New York and her work has been presented in prestigious auctions in Latin America and in the United States of America. Her sculpture can be seen in public and private art collections and museums around the world.
Poonam's cultural heritage guides her work, which is reflected in the fusion of elements and forms found in nature and in the human body. Her inspiration comes from her ethnic roots in India, where the human figure is the main motif.
