I started working with glass in 2014. In 2016, I started to study glass-art at the State Institute for Art & Craft (IKA), in Mechelen, Belgium. I graduated at the IKA in Mechelen in June 2022
I also followed Masterclasses in the Netherlands, Scotland and Germany. My favorite techniques are kilncasting and pâte de verre.
I find inspiration in personal stories, music and literature. Art challenges me to think about the essence of life; what are our similarities and what binds us as human beings. I am drawn to the contrasts of continuity and transience. I search both in form and in the skin of the glass piece to express everlasting energy. The metaphor of the oval and the cirkel complement that concept very well.
For me glass is the most perfect material to express intangible and abstract ideas and personal feelings as the very essence of glass enhances the symbolism in the visual language. I try to embrace imperceptibility with its transparency.
