In 2022, Liza graduated with a MFA in Sculpture with an Anatomy minor from The New York Academy of Art. Her early sculpture training was with Barney Hodes at The Art Students League of New York. She received a BS in Psychology with Honors and a minor in Biology from The City College of New York. She studied Anatomy at York College while pursuing her Bachelor’s. Her work has been shown at the Cherry Valley Sculpture Trail, and was the spring 2023 Artist in Residence at the West Nottingham Academy in Colora, Maryland. After a visit to Corning Museum of Glass just before the start of her Master’s studies, Liza started working with glass. Inspired by the Art Nouveau pâte de verre artists, she began independently researching the technique. She began taking casting classes at The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass, under the tutelage of Richard Whiteley. Liza has been Richard's teaching assistant for several intensive classes and workshops. Liza is grateful to have received several scholarships and grants throughout her education including: The President’s Scholar Award (The New York Academy), The Martha and Walter Earlebacher Award, The Newington-Cropsey Foundation, , Modern Art Foundry and Newington-Cropsey Foundation, S Jay Levy Fellowship for Future Leaders, Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Merit Scholarship, and scholarships to workshops at Corning, Urban Glass, and Penland School of Craft.
