Before beginning my glass art studies at the IKA Mechelen (Institute of Art and Craft), I spent over thirty years conducting research on ancient glass at the laboratories of the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage in Brussels. Throughout those years, my work focused on understanding the properties of glass, the evolution of its chemical composition, as well as the composition of glass paints, and the processes of glass deterioration in order to fulfil a proper restoration. Despite my deep engagement with these topics, I became increasingly curious about modern glass art techniques. Over the past nine years at IKA, I have discovered many fascinating possibilities for creating and experimenting with glass. In June 2024, I completed the specialization degree in Glass Art from the IKA Mechelen.
