I am a multidisciplinary artist working across glass, sculpture, installation, audiovisual media and performance. My practice often begins with materials and their physical properties, using processes of making as a way to explore ideas that extend beyond the visible and tangible. I am interested in metaphysical questions, transformation, perception and the relationship between humans and their environment. Nature, Eastern philosophy, underground cultural movements and contemporary technology inform my work, which often brings together traditional craft with experimental and digital processes. My works frequently take the form of site-specific installations and environments, where sound, light, image, material and the body become interconnected. I approach making as a physical and intuitive process—almost a dance with materials—where movement, repetition and experimentation allow the work to develop through the interaction between myself, the material and the surrounding space. My background in glass has strongly shaped my approach to art, teaching me to work through heat, gravity, rhythm and transformation. I continue to explore these principles beyond glass, combining different media and techniques to create situations that invite contemplation and alternative ways of perceiving the world.
