I’ve been working in the field of analog photography since 2008. Big part of my work involves research in historical photographic processes from the beginnings of photography, trying to find a more modern and more ecological approach to them. I’m regularly giving workshops in various photographic processes, teaching photographic history.
As an artist, my main field of interest is landscape photography. Mostly i’m working with large-format glassplate cameras. I’m looking at landscape from a social and psychological aspect, how landscape influences us with its presence. Glass is an important part of my work, at the same time being fragile medium, and the one that can outlast others, and preserve images much longer than others.
In 2022 finished bachelors degree studien in Latvian Arts academy, glass art department, and went on to study printmaking in masters programme. On regular basis working as a teacher of photographic history and processes, in Liepāja university and artists collective Baltic Analog lab.
