Alena Šinková graduated from the oldest glassmaking school in Kamenický Šenov. She later taught glass painting at the glassmaking institute in Nový Bor, where she also deepened her expertise in nearly forgotten painting techniques under the mentorship of renowned master painter Jan Jankovec. Her original works are exhibited both domestically and internationally.
In her glass creations, she employs intricate shading techniques, often combined with sandblasting or engraving. She achieves a unique interplay of depth and light in her artworks through the use of gold, opaque, and transparent colors. Each glass painting is crafted on two panels, set within a metal frame. The sense of depth and expression is further enhanced by layering three distinct images, which only reveal their full meaning when viewed together in sequence.
Several of her pieces, thanks to her patented technique, were selected for a global online exhibition organised by the Contemporary Glass Society, where they represented the Czech Republic.
Alena Šinková’s works are part of private collections in Germany, Spain, China, the United States, Cyprus, and other countries.
